Vanessa Hierbaum, Partner
Ms. Hierbaum’s practice includes all aspects of family law including the trial and settlement of marital dissolutions, spousal and child support, and complex asset characterization and division issues. Ms. Hierbaum handles high conflict custody and visitation disputes, including relocation issues, parental right termination and contested adoption proceedings, and cases involving domestic violence. Ms. Hierbaum also provides mediation consulting services, and drafts premarital, postnuptial and marital settlement agreements. Ms. Hierbaum’s practice includes probate and trust litigation and estate planning.
Ms. Hierbaum serves as a Pro Tem Settlement Conference Judge for the San Francisco Superior Court, and she previously served on the Committee to Revised the Local Rules for the San Francisco County Superior Court Unified Family Court. Ms. Hierbaum is a member of the Family Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco, and previously served as chair of the Barristers Club Family Law Section, a division of the San Francisco Bar Association comprised of attorneys in their first ten years of practice. Ms. Hierbaum has lectured for Golden Gate University, NBI and other organizations.
Ms. Hierbaum is currently the President of the Board of Directors for Queen’s Bench, the Women’s Bar Association of the San Francisco Bay Area. She previously served as the First Vice President of the Board of Directors for Queen’s Bench and organized the Queen’s Bench Annual Judges’ Dinner featuring legal visionary Catharine MacKinnon. She was chairwoman of the Queen’s Bench Programs Committee in 2013 and of the Domestic Violence Committee in 2008, 2010 and 2011. She has written several articles for Queen’s Bench on Domestic Violence and other issues.
